The Meadow House is ranked as one of Northumberland's prime outlets for Guinness, and has been since 1989.

This has never been advertised apart from a small sun drenched sticker on the bar window, until now. With the sales of Guinness going through the roof due to the introduction of the Extra Cold throughout the UK its now time to stand out from the crowd! The bar itself is decked out with old and modern Guinness memorabilia hidden in every nook and cranny that we can stick something. So you could say that as well as being a music bar we are also a Guinness bar.

Why??

Guinness Logo

Guinness class their outlets by sales. On average a busy inner-city pub will sell between half a keg to a full one per week. The only product that out sells Guinness here, is Lager. The Meadow House sells on average 3-4 kegs per week during the summer and 2-3 during the winter! Because our cellar is directly behind the back bar, 'The Black Stuff' doesn't have far to travel (approximately 2-3 pints from the keg to the font) so it is in prime condition when you receive it in your glass. Unlike most pubs the staff of The Meadow House pour of al least 1-2 pints before service of the first pint of Guinness out of each font every day. This ensures that you get the freshest Guinness straight from the barrel and not the stuff that has been left in the lines for 12 hours or more!

We can guarantee that you will never receive:

  • A Brown Head on your Guinness
  • Hundreds & Thousands (black dots on the head)
  • A Crap pint of Guinness!
