The Meadow House bar is comfortable and inviting. At night the lights are dimmed and it is lit by candles with some background music, whether it be famous or local artists. It is small, but has tons of character and the locals welcome every stranger as a friend.

The bar is fully stocked with an array of everyday beer and lager. Due to space we regrettably only have two real ales on at one time, but they are always in top condition. Being so close to Scotland we stock a wide range of malt whiskys, normally between 30 and 40. The range of liqueurs is massive by any means. Up to 50 are kept in stock whether they are on show or hidden away. If there is one you would like to try just ask and we will do our best to get it in stock for your next visit. The liqueurs enable us to make numerous cocktails, some that are invented on the spur of the moment and some that have been created by the tenant, Mike Hearn. He has over 40 locked away in his head. If you want a real shot cocktail, ask for the 'Gag And Swallow', if you don't gag you're not human! We also stock the world renowned Absinthe in 3 strengths!

It has the normal amenities found in any bar e.g., gambling machine, dart board and a pool table, however there are a few things that separate us from the rest. The walls are decorated with musical instruments, such as acoustic guitars, fiddles, bass guitars, saxophones and even a sitar. Many of these instruments are playable. If you ask at the bar the staff will gladly let you borrow a plectrum and tuner so you can play to your hearts content. Music is a very big influence in the bar and you might find that if there is any other musicians in they might ask to jam along.

On certain weekend evenings the bar transforms into ' The First & Last Venue', where it's fast becoming renowned for high quality live music, without the usual snobbery!

We have everything under one roof. Have a meal, a drink and relax and then get free tickets for the gig that is on that night. Come and enjoy yourself, dance, sing and have a good night, it's what music is all about!
