David & Mike both hope to enter in 2005 to see if they can get further.
The Meadow House pub in Berwick has been presented with £250 after scooping a top award for their floral display. The 'Pubs in Bloom' competition is an annual event organised by the pub's owners, Pubmaster.
Judge and competition organiser, Pubmaster Trade Support manager Becky Boyes said, "The standard of entries were particularly high this year. Meadow House have produced a superb display and thoroughly deserve the award. It is also very satisfying to know that this competition brings rewards not only to the pubs, but also to the customers."
Pubmaster business development manager Andrew Pallister added "Our congratulations to Mike, Edith and the team at Meadow House. Many of our pubs made a tremendous effort to make their establishment attractive and appealing and this competition is just one way of recognising and rewarding their achievements."
"The Meadow House is exposed to the elements & despite the weather, the garden was in superb condition."
"Of particular note is the large area of land surrounding the pub which the tenant, Edith, maintains along with her garden and hanging baskets."
"All areas were well maintained with a good mix of shrubbery and plants and some of the hanging baskets were quite spectacular."
